The Deity (Jesus is God) of Jesus Christ
The study of the Jesus Christ – Christology
The Deity (Jesus is God) of Jesus Christ (YHWH) of the Christian Bible
The Deity of Christ Jesus is the most important and fundamental truth all need to understand and believe. If you do not believe in the deity of Christ Jesus of the Bible (The Lord (YHWH)) as referred to in the old testament and the new), (Jesus is God, the Son of God the Father, Jesus is one of the Holy Trinity which all together are one God but three persons), then you are not saved or born again, you have not met the true Jesus Christ of the bible nor do you have a relationship with Him, you have simply made up a religion or God to suite yourself (Idolatry). In love, I ask you to please study the following carefully for the sake of your eternal salvation.
Wherever the english translation Jesus is used in this study or in the bible it refers to The Lord (YHWH) in new testament in Greek (Ἰησοῦς – Iēsous – ee-ay-sooce’ or in John 1 – λόγος – logos – log’-os) or in the old testament in Hebrew (יְהֹוָה – yehôvâh – yeh-ho-vaw’)

Bible Study
If you really desire Truth God will let you see and understand.
The one and only true God the blessed Trinity, the God of Moses, Abraham, David, Solomon, Isaac and all the prophets, One God three persons, God the Father, God the Son the Lord Jesus Christ (YHWH), and God the Holy Spirit, may He bless you, may Your eyes open to the truth and may He show mercy on you.
God the Father always existed, God the Holy Spirit always Existed. God the Son (Jesus the Word (Logos)) always existed. Together they are One God, This One God (Three persons) the True God, the God of Moses, Abraham, David, Solomon, Isaac and all the prophets has always existed. Jesus was God before He chose to take a human form on earth to die for your sins. Jesus also created all Humans. When He died as a Human, He rose again on the third day and eventually ascended into Heaven again as God to be seated at the right hand of the Father who is also God. Jesus had earthly human parents when He was in His earthly Human form (Joseph and Mary, but they where just human beings created by God like all of us). When Jesus was in His Human form on earth, He was fully God and Fully Human. If you truly desire Truth and humble yourself before God, God will let you see the Truth in His word the Bible.
God created everything through Jesus the Word (logos), as referred to in John 1. Jesus gave life to everything that was created. Jesus was with God the Father from the beginning and Jesus was also God and they always existed. Jesus is referred to as the Word and as the Light.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. There came a man sent from God, whose name was John. He came as a witness, to testify about the Light, so that all might believe through him. He was not the Light, but he came to testify about the Light. There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. John *testified about Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.'” For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace. For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.
(Joh 1:1-17 NASB)
God (more than one person but One God, The Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) referred to as “us” in Genesis 1:26) created the heavens and the earth.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
(Gen 1:1 NASB)
God (more than one person but One God, The Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) referred to as “us” in Genesis 1:26) created human beings.
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
(Gen 1:26 NASB)
Jesus Declares He is God, and he existed before Abraham.
So the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.”
(Joh 8:57-58 NASB)
Jesus says to know Him you also know the Father and have seen the Father because they both are God.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”
John 14:6, 7 NASB
Jesus shared in the Fathers glory before the world began because He always existed as God with the Father, also seen in John 1.
Jesus spoke these things; and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You, even as You gave Him authority over all flesh, that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life. “This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. “I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do. “Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.
(Joh 17:1-5 NASB)
Jesus is the only way to be saved and the only way to the Father.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
John 3:16 NASB
Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
(Joh 14:6 NASB)
Jesus is God’s Son and Is also God, every knee will Bow to Him in worship and confess Him as Lord. Jesus humbled Himself from being God to becoming a man and to the point of death, but God the Father exalted Him again. EVERY KNEE WILL BOW to Jesus and confess that He is Lord.
Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
(Php 2:1-11 NASB)
Several key characteristics of Jesus Christ, however, are praised in this passage: (1) Christ has always existed with God; (2) Christ is equal to God because he is God (Joh 1:1; Col 1:15-19); (3) though Christ is God, he became a man in order to fulfil God’s plan of salvation for all people; (4) Christ did not just have the appearance of being a man—he actually became human to identify with our sins; (5) Christ voluntarily laid aside his divine rights and privileges out of love for his Father; (6) Christ died on the cross for our sins so we wouldn’t have to face eternal death; (7) God glorified Christ because of his obedience; (8) God raised Christ to his original position at the Father’s right hand, where he will reign forever as our Lord and Judge. How can we do anything less than praise Christ as our Lord and dedicate ourselves to his service! The Incarnation was the act of the pre-existent Son of God voluntarily assuming a human body and human nature. Without ceasing to be God, he became a human being, the man called Jesus. He did not give up his deity to become human, but he set aside the right to his glory and power. In submission to the Father’s will, Christ limited his power and knowledge. Jesus of Nazareth was subject to place, time, and many other human limitations. What made his humanity unique was his freedom from sin. In his full humanity, Jesus showed us everything about God’s character that can be conveyed in human terms.
Jesus is God, the very Image of God, Creator of ALL things and they are created for Him:
For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.
(Col 1:13-20 NASB)
Jesus said:
“Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.”
(Mar 10:15 NASB)
“And I say to you, everyone who confesses Me before men, the Son of Man will confess him also before the angels of God; but he who denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God.
(Luk 12:8-9 NASB)
“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life.
(Joh 6:47 NASB)
So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
(Joh 8:31-32 NASB)
“So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.
(Joh 8:36 NASB)
So the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.”
(Joh 8:57-58 NASB)
These verses make it clear, salvation comes through repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour, Master, Redeemer and God.
that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for “WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.”
(Rom 10:9-13 NASB)
Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. “For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.”
(Act 2:38-39 NASB)
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
(Rom 3:23-26 NASB)
This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.
(1Jn 1:5-10 NASB)
And He summoned the crowd with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. “For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. “For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? “For what will a man give in exchange for his soul? “For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”
(Mar 8:34-38 NASB)
“Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. “But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.
(Mat 10:32-33 NASB)
Every Knee will bow to Christ Jesus (YHWH):
Christ Jesus (YHWH) Will come again and EVERY Knee shall bow to Him in worship:
Every knee will bow (Reference from CARM.org):
In Philippians 2, Paul is clear that Jesus not only personally existed before his human conception and birth, but that He did so in the very nature of God:
“although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men,” (Philippians 2:6-7).
Paul made a similar point to the Colossians, stating that:
“For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,” (Colossians 2:9).
Philippians 2 goes on to make it quite clear that Jesus did not merely exist as a divine, god-like creation, but that He is Jehovah God Himself. Paul goes on to say:
“So that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father,” (Philippians 2:10-11).
Here, Paul is applying to Jesus the words from Isaiah, where Jehovah Himself says:
“I have sworn by Myself, The word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousness And will not turn back, That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance,” (Isaiah 45:23).
Jehovah swore by His own name that every knee would bow and every tongue will confess His own Lordship. Paul says that this oath of God will be fulfilled in every knee bowing and every tongue confessing that Jesus is Lord. Again, Jesus is identified as YHWH, the LORD, Jehovah. The whole passage, of course, distinguishes between the Father and Son. The Son voluntarily submits to the Father, the Father exalts the Son, and the Son glorifies the Father. They are two distinct persons, yet they are both Jehovah God. This is what Christians have always believed. This is, again, an expression of the Christian doctrine of the Trinity.

Jesus is coming again as God our Saviour:
BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen. “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
(Rev 1:7-8 NASB)
Jesus Said I am the first and the last:
When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.
(Rev 1:17-18 NASB)
Jesus Christ is Lord and every knee shall bow to Him.
For not one of us lives for himself, and not one dies for himself; for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that He might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. For it is written, “AS I LIVE, SAYS THE LORD, EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW TO ME, AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL GIVE PRAISE TO GOD.” So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God.
(Rom 14:7-12 NASB)
Confess Jesus as your Lord, your Saviour and your God and call on His name to be saved.
“that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”” (Rom 10:9-13 NASB)
Believing is always accompanied by true repentance and laying down your life for Christ Jesus in obedience. These following scriptures should help bring the message home to your heart.
And He summoned the crowd with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? (Mark 8:34-36 NASB)
Now after John had been taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:14, 15 NASB)
People say they believe in Jesus and even use his name, but practice lawlessness (do not repent of their sin and turn from it), they do not know the Real Jesus Christ of the bible and are not saved.
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. “Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’
(Mat 7:21-23 NASB)
”Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? “Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them, I will show you whom he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. “But the one who has heard and has not acted accordingly, is like a man who built a house on the ground without any foundation; and the torrent burst against it and immediately it collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great.”
(Luk 6:46-49 NASB)
Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses. (Acts 13:38, 39 NASB)
And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6 NASB)
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Ephesians 2:8, 9 NASB)
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. (Romans 10:17 NASB)
who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God. Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart, for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God. For, “All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls off, But the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word which was preached to you. (1 Peter 1:21-25 NASB)
For this is contained in Scripture: “Behold, I lay in Zion a choice stone, a precious corner stone, And he who believes in Him will not be disappointed.” This precious value, then, is for you who believe; but for those who disbelieve, “The stone which the builders rejected, This became the very corner stone, ” and, “A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense “; for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this doom they were also appointed. (1 Peter 2:6-8 NASB)
JESUS WAS WORSHIPPED as God:
Jesus was worshipped by the Magi:
After coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
(Mat 2:11 NASB)
Peter and others worship Jesus and He allows it:
Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and *said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” When they got into the boat, the wind stopped. And those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, “You are certainly God’s Son!”
(Mat 14:31-33 NASB)
Jesus appears to his disciples and they worship him after he is carried into heaven.
Now He said to them, “These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. “You are witnesses of these things. “And behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.” And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. While He was blessing them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven. And they, after worshiping Him, returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and were continually in the temple praising God.
(Luk 24:44-53 NASB)
After the resurrection they worshipped him:
And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him.
(Mat 28:9 NASB)
Jesus encouraged praying in His name:
“”You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.” (John 15:16, NAS95)
You must Be Born Again to Enter the Kingdom of God:
Are you truly Born Again?
Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.” (John 3:3, 5-7, 14-21 NASB)
Believing isn’t simply saying I Believe, when you believe you truly repent, turn away from sin and turn to God. You lay down your life and follow Jesus as your Lord, Savior and your God, who grants you forgiveness and salvation. When you are born again of the Spirit (the Holy Spirit) you are transformed into a new self, a new self that wants to turn from your sin and old ways, a new self that seeks after truth, a new self that lives to serve The Lord, a new self that is not self-centered. The Holy Spirit will help you break the strongholds of sin in your life and you cannot and should not want to continue to live life as you please, you need to and should want to deny yourself as the next verse clearly shows.
