In order to accept Christ as Savior, we need to turn from our sins and willingly nail our sinful nature to the cross. This doesn't mean, however, that we will never see traces of its evil desires again. As Christians we still have the capacity to sin, but we have been set free from sin's power over us and no longer have to give in to it. We must daily commit our sinful tendencies to God's control, daily crucify them, and moment by moment draw on the Spirit's power to overcome them (see Gal 2:20; Gal 6:14).Keep in Step with the SpiritGal 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.Gal 5:17 For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.Gal 5:18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.Gal 5:19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,Gal 5:20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions,Gal 5:21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,Gal 5:23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.Gal 5:24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.Gal 5:25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.Gal 5:26 Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.Galatians 5:16-18If your desire is to have the qualities listed in Gal 5:22-23, then you know that the Holy Spirit is leading you. At the same time, be careful not to confuse your subjective feelings with the Spirit's leading. Being led by the Holy Spirit involves the desire to hear, the readiness to obey God's Word, and the sensitivity to discern between your feelings and his promptings. Live each day controlled and guided by the Holy Spirit. Then the words of Christ will be in your mind, the love of Christ will be behind your actions, and the power of Christ will help you control your selfish desires.Galatians 5:17Paul describes the two forces fighting within us—the Holy Spirit and the sinful nature (our evil desires or inclinations that stem from our body; see also Gal 5:16, Gal 5:19, Gal 5:24). Paul is not saying that these forces are equal—the Holy Spirit is infinitely stronger. But if we rely on our own wisdom, we will make wrong choices. If we try to follow the Spirit by our own human effort, we will fail. Our only way to freedom from our evil desires is through the empowering of the Holy Spirit (see Rom 8:9; Eph 4:23-24; Col 3:3-8).Galatians 5:19-21We all have evil desires, and we can't ignore them. In order for us to follow the Holy Spirit's guidance, we must deal with them decisively (crucify them— Gal 5:24). These desires include obvious sins, such as sexual immorality and demonic activities. They also include less obvious sins, such as hostility, jealousy, and selfish ambition. Those who ignore such sins or refuse to deal with them reveal that they have not received the gift of the Spirit that leads to a transformed life.Galatians 5:22-23The fruit of the Spirit is the spontaneous work of the Holy Spirit in us. The Spirit produces these character traits that are found in the nature of Christ. They are the by-products of Christ's control—we can't obtain them by trying to get them without his help. If we want the fruit of the Spirit to grow in us, we must join our life to his (see Joh 15:4-5). We must know him, love him, remember him, and imitate him. As a result, we will fulfill the intended purpose of the law—to love God and our neighbors. Which of these qualities do you want the Spirit to produce in you?Galatians 5:23Because the God who sent the law also sent the Spirit, the by-products of the Spirit-filled life are in perfect harmony with the intent of God's law. A person who exhibits the fruit of the Spirit fulfills the law far better than a person who observes the rituals but has little love in his or her heart.Galatians 5:24In order to accept Christ as Savior, we need to turn from our sins and willingly nail our sinful nature to the cross. This doesn't mean, however, that we will never see traces of its evil desires again. As Christians we still have the capacity to sin, but we have been set free from sin's power over us and no longer have to give in to it. We must daily commit our sinful tendencies to God's control, daily crucify them, and moment by moment draw on the Spirit's power to overcome them (see Gal 2:20; Gal 6:14).Galatians 5:25God is interested in every part of our life, not just the spiritual part. As we live by the Holy Spirit's power, we need to submit every aspect of our life to God: emotional, physical, social, intellectual, vocational. Paul says that because we're saved, we should live like it! The Holy Spirit is the source of your new life, so keep in step with his leading. Don't let anything or anyone else determine your values and standards in any area of your life.Galatians 5:26Everyone needs a certain amount of approval from others. But those who go out of their way to secure honors or to win popularity become conceited and show they are not following the Holy Spirit's leading. Those who look to God for approval won't need to envy others. Because we are God's sons and daughters, we have his Holy Spirit as the loving guarantee of his approval. Seek to please God, and the approval of others won't seem so important.HICJ NASB LASB ... See MoreSee Less

False teachers are popular with the world because, like the false prophets of the Old Testament, they tell people what they want to hear. John warns that Christians who faithfully teach God's Word will not win any popularity contests in the world. People don't want to hear their sins denounced; they don't want to listen to demands that they change their behavior. A false teacher will be well received by non-Christians.Test the Spirits1Jn 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.1Jn 4:2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God;1Jn 4:3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.1Jn 4:4 You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.1Jn 4:5 They are from the world; therefore they speak as from the world, and the world listens to them.1Jn 4:6 We are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.1 John 4:1-2"Do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God" means that we shouldn't believe everything we hear just because someone says it is a message from God. There are many ways to test teachers to see if their message is truly from the Lord. One is to check to see if their words match what God says in the Bible. Other tests include their commitment to the body of believers (1Jn 2:19), their life-styles (1Jn 3:23-24), and the fruit of their ministries (1Jn 4:6). But the most important test of all, says John, is what they believe about Christ. Do they teach that Jesus is fully God and fully man? Our world is filled with voices claiming to speak for God. Give them these tests to see if they are indeed speaking God's truth.1 John 4:3The Antichrist will be a person who epitomizes all that is evil, and he will be readily received by an evil world. He is more fully described in 2Th 2:3-12 and Revelation 13. The "spirit of the Antichrist" is already here (see the note on 1Jn 2:18-23). Those who reject Christ are unknowingly or consciously siding with the spirit of the Antichrist.1 John 4:4It is easy to be frightened by the wickedness we see all around us and to be overwhelmed by the problems we face. Evil is obviously much stronger than we are. John assures us, however, that God is even stronger. He will conquer all evil—and his Spirit and his Word live in our heart!HICJ NASB LASB ... The Message of Salvation to AllRom 10:8 But what does it say? "THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART"—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,Rom 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;Rom 10:10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.Rom 10:11 For the Scripture says, "WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED."Rom 10:12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him;Rom 10:13 for "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED."Rom 10:14 How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?Rom 10:15 How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, "HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!"Rom 10:16 However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says, "LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT?"Rom 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.Rom 10:18 But I say, surely they have never heard, have they? Indeed they have; "THEIR VOICE HAS GONE OUT INTO ALL THE EARTH, AND THEIR WORDS TO THE ENDS OF THE WORLD."HICJ NASB ... See MoreSee Less

JESUS SAID:“I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth! You say, ‘I am rich. I have everything I want. I don’t need a thing!’ And you don’t realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked. So I advise you to buy gold from me—gold that has been purified by fire. Then you will be rich. Also buy white garments from me so you will not be shamed by your nakedness, and ointment for your eyes so you will be able to see. I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference. “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne.Revelation 3:15-21 NLT ... See MoreSee Less

Warning Against WorldlinessJas 4:1 What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members?Jas 4:2 You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask.Jas 4:3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.Jas 4:4 You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.Jas 4:5 Or do you think that the Scripture speaks to no purpose: "He jealously desires the Spirit which He has made to dwell in us"?Jas 4:6 But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, "GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE."Jas 4:7 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.Jas 4:8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.Jas 4:9 Be miserable and mourn and weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy to gloom.Jas 4:10 Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.HICJ NASB ... Everlasting life, Salvation, Mercy and Grace how do I get it?Are you a Good person?Let’s see if you are a good person: Jesus said, “Whoever looks upon another to lust (with sexual desire) after them has committed adultery already with them in their heart". Jesus sees lust as adultery (Matt 5:28). Have you ever lusted (Adultery)? Jesus sees hatred as murder (1 Jhn 3:15). Have you hated anyone (Murder)? Have you made a god in your mind to suit yourself, or worshiped the things of this world or followed a false god (1 Cor 6:9) (Idolatry)? Have you had sex outside of marriage (Col 3:35) (Fornication)? Have you used God’s name in vain (Col 3:8) (Blasphemy)? Have you ever stolen something irrespective of its value (Rom 13:9) (Thief)? Have you ever told a lie even a small one (Eph 4:25) (Liar)? If I'm really honest my answer to all these is yes, and yours should be too. If you have stolen, you are a thief, If you have told just one lie you are a liar, if you have lusted you’re an adulterer and cannot enter Heaven. You have to face a Righteous Holy God on Judgment Day. Will you be guilty and end up in Hell, forever? This should deeply concern you.False dichotomy: goodness cannot exist apart from justice. Would we call a judge “good” if he let violent criminals go free, with no consequences? Of course not! We would call him corrupt and bad. But God is good; in fact he alone is good (Mar 10:18), and he is also just (Psa 37:28; Psa 111:7; Dan 4:37).If we look at the Ten Commandments (Deu 5:1-21) and compare ourselves against it, then each and every one of us has sinned, we are liars, thieves, adulterers, blasphemers, murderers and much more in our actions and at heart, we all deserve judgement, and because God is a Righteous Holy Judge he will send us to Hell which is Gods prison where there is no escape. The price of sin is Death (Rom 6:23).Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned (Romans 5:12 NASB)Still think you are a GOOD/RIGHTEOUS person, consider this"For whosoever shall keep the whole Law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." (Jas 2:10 KJV)No One Is Righteous: as it is written, "THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE; THERE IS NONE WHO UNDERSTANDS, THERE IS NONE WHO SEEKS FOR GOD; ALL HAVE TURNED ASIDE, TOGETHER THEY HAVE BECOME USELESS; THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD, THERE IS NOT EVEN ONE." (Rom 3:10-12 NASB)If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. (1 Jhn 1:8 NASB)“If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts. (1 Jhn 1:10 NLT)“Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God”. (1 Cor‬ ‭6:9-10‬ ‭NASB)‬‬“Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. So, anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.”” (Matt‬ ‭18:3-4‬ ‭NLT)‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬The Good NewsSo, we as sinners deserve to go to Hell. But that’s not God’s desire. We broke His Law (the Ten Commandments) but because Jesus paid our fine (died for our sins as a sacrifice, in our place) on the cross about 2000 years ago, God can forgive us. The bible says, “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Rom 5:8). Then He rose from the dead and defeated the power of death and the grave. If you REPENT (turn away from your sin, have sorrow for your sin (2 Cor‬ ‭7:10-11‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬, humble yourself (Matt‬ ‭18:3-4‬ ), admit you are wrong, ask for forgiveness and turn to God) (Luk 13:3) and TRUST and put your FAITH in the Savior Jesus Christ, God will forgive your sins, then God will fill you with the Holy Spirit and you will be Born Again, God will give you a new heart with new desires and grant you everlasting life, for God is LOVING and MERCIFUL. We cannot save ourselves, only God can save us through Faith, but we must take the step of Faith, accept the Free gift, humble ourselves, Repent and Believe in Him. God desires all to be saved: This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:3-4 NASB)Saved through Faith: For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9 NASB)“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”” (Rom‬ ‭10:9-10, 13‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)‬‬“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (Jhn 3:16 NASB‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)“The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.” ‭‭(2 Pet‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭NASB‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)‬‬‬‬For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death. For behold what earnestness this very thing, this godly sorrow, has produced in you: what vindication of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal, what avenging of wrong! In everything you demonstrated yourselves to be innocent in the matter. (2 Cor‬ ‭7:10-11‬ NASB‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‭‭‬‬“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.” (Psa‬ ‭51:17‬ ‭NASB‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬“Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.” (Matt 3:2 NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)“Not at all! And you will perish, too, unless you repent of your sins and turn to God.” (Luk 13:3 NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)“Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God.” (Matt 3:8 NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)“I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent.” (Luk 5:32 NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)“Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.” (Acts 3:19 NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)“Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This promise is to you, to your children, and to those far away —all who have been called by the Lord our God.”” (Acts‬ ‭2:38-39‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)‬‬“Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.” (Rom 3:24 NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)“Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith.” (Rom 3:27 NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)So, repent of your sins and turn to God today, put your faith in Jesus Christ, then read the Bible and obey what you read (Jhn 14:21). Be sensible, get right with God today.Further Explanation“And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.” (Heb‬ ‭11:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)‬‬To repent means to be sorry and turn away from sin, ask for forgiveness and to change the direction of your life from selfishness and rebellion against God. At the same time, you must turn to Jesus Christ, depending on and trusting Him for forgiveness, mercy, guidance, and purpose. We cannot save ourselves, only God can save us through Faith, but we must take the step of Faith, accept the Free gift, humble ourselves, Repent and Believe in Him.If we look at the Ten Commandments (Deu 5:1-21) and compare ourselves against it, then each and every one of us has sinned (Rom 7:7-8), we are liars, thieves, adulterers, blasphemers, murderers and much more at heart, we all deserve judgement, and because God is a righteous holy judge he will send us to Hell which is Gods prison where there is no escape. The price of sin is death. So how can we be saved if we as sinners are guilty of breaking Gods law?Well as we see in the bible Jesus Christ the Son of God became man in the flesh (Fully God and fully man) and lived a perfect life with no sin, he died for us and took the punishment due to us because of our sin, upon himself. Without this beautiful sacrifice, we would all go to eternal Hell. Now we have a chance and a choice, if we repent (are truly sorry for our sins and turn away from them and turn to God), believe and trust in Jesus Christ and what he did on the cross for you and that he rose again on the third day, he will grant us the free gift of salvation. He will then give you a new heart and mind with new desires and the Holy Spirit will live in you and you will walk in the Spirit and not in the Flesh. Now you turn away from sin (You will never be perfect in this life, but you will grow to be more like Jesus with His help), and if you stumble and sin you repent of it immediately and ask God to give you strength to change and overcome that sin, you keep in prayer, you read, study and obey the word of God, you spread the good news till your death or Jesus comes again. Don't wait another second to give your life to Jesus and repent, you might die tonight. “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” (1 Jhn 1:9 NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)Baptism When you TRUST and put your FAITH in the Savior Jesus Christ and you have REPENTED, then you should be BAPTISED, Baptism identifies us with Christ and with the community of believers. Baptism openly and publicly declares your faith and commitment to follow Jesus. How do we clothe ourselves with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ? First, we identify with Christ by being baptised. “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptised into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.” (Gal 3:27 NASB)Baptism shows our solidarity with other Christians and with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We should also obey what Jesus Commands for Jesus says: “So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say?” (Luke 6:46) “If you love me, obey my commandments.” (Jhn 14:15)The Great Commission “But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”” (Matt 28:16-20 NASB)Peter (1 Pet 3:20-21) says that Noah's salvation from the flood symbolized baptism, a ceremony involving water. In baptism we identify with Jesus Christ, who separates us from the lost and gives us new life. The ceremony of Baptism is evidence of our faith in Christ's death and resurrection. Baptism is a symbol of the cleansing that happens in the hearts of those who believe. (Rom 6:3-5; Gal 3:27; Col 2:12)Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.” (Rom 6:3-4 NLT)For you were buried with Christ when you were baptised. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead. (Col 2:12 NLT)God desires EVERYONE to be SAVED and to understand the TRUTHThis is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:3-4 NASB)The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. (2 Pet 3:9)The fact that all people, without exception, commit sin proves we have a sinful nature. Does this mean only Christians do good? Of course not, many people do good to others. On a relative scale, many are moral, kind, and law abiding. Comparing these people to criminals, we would say that they are very good indeed. But on God's absolute scale, no one is good enough to earn salvation. Only through being united (through Faith and Trust in Jesus and Repentance) with Christ's perfect life can we become good/righteous in God's sight. We were dead in our sins, but God, we were rebels against him, but God, we were enslaved by the devil and our sinful natures, but God. These may be the most welcome words in all Scripture: "but God". God could have left us in rebellion against him and in bondage to our sins. But he didn't. He did not send His Son to die for us, because of, but rather in spite of, what he saw in us. In addition to thanking him for what he has done for us, we should also show humble patience and tolerance for others who seem unworthy or undeserving of our love and compassion. They may be spiritually dull, rebellious, and even antagonistic toward God. So were we; but God loved us anyway. Can we do less for fellow sinners? Pray for All People, God wants everyone to be Saved.“I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. For, There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time.” (1 Tim 2:1-6)Both Peter and Paul said that God wants everyone to be saved (2 Pet 3:9). This does not mean that all will be saved, because the Bible makes it clear that many reject Christ (Mat 25:31-46; Jhn 12:44-50; Heb 10:26-29). The Good News has a universal scope; it is not directed only to people of one race, one sex, or one national background. God loves the whole world and sent his Son to save sinners. No one is outside God's mercy or beyond the reach of his offer of salvation.“that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”” (Rom 10:9-13 NASB‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)That is why the Holy Spirit says, “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts as Israel did when they rebelled, when they tested me in the wilderness. (Heb 3:7-8)So God’s rest is there for people to enter, but those who first heard this good news failed to enter because they disobeyed God. So God set another time for entering his rest, and that time is today. God announced this through David much later in the words already quoted: “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts.” (Heb 4:6-7)Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.” (Jhn 3:3)All of us have sinned and offended our Creator, a righteous God (Rom 3:23), and the penalty for sin is death (Rom 5:12 and 6:23). But one day even death will be defeated, “the last enemy to be destroyed is death” (1 Cor 15:26).God has provided the way of salvation through his Son, Jesus Christ. The door of salvation is open, but only for a time. If we will walk through the door, which is Jesus Christ (Jhn 10:9), we will be saved. In this way God’s justice is satisfied and God’s righteousness is displayed (Rom 3:24–26). The cross is where “Mercy and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed” (Psa 85:10).Here are some verses to bring the Truth about the Gospel to you heart“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”” (Jhn 14:6, 7 NASB‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)“Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Php‬ ‭2:9-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)‬‬“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.” (Rom‬ ‭3:23-26‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)‬‬“Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was. We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him.” (Rom‬ ‭6:1-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)‬‬ “Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So, use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace. Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not! Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living. Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly obey this teaching we have given you. Now you are free from your slavery to sin, and you have become slaves to righteous living. Because of the weakness of your human nature, I am using the illustration of slavery to help you understand all this. Previously, you let yourselves be slaves to impurity and lawlessness, which led ever deeper into sin. Now you must give yourselves to be slaves to righteous living so that you will become holy. When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the obligation to do right. And what was the result? You are now ashamed of the things you used to do, things that end in eternal doom. But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Rom‬ ‭6:12-23‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)‬‬“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His Own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.” (Rom 8:1-8 NASB‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)“Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else. But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. So, God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus. God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.” (Eph ‭2:1-9‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬“Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory. So, put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming. You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world. But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language. Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.” (Col‬ ‭3:1-10‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)‬‬“Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.” (1 Cor 6:9-11 NASB‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)“This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.” (1 Jhn 1:5-10 NASB‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)“And He summoned the crowd with His disciples, and said to them, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it. For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? For what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”” (Mrk 8:34-38 NASB‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.” (Gal 5:16-25 NASB‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)"Therefore, everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.” (Matt 10:32, 33 NASB‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)“Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason, also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Php 2:8-11 NASB‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.” (1 Jhn 4:7-15 NASB‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)Why Trust the bible?God inspired, Faith filled, God fearing and loving men wrote the bible. When you write a letter, do you write the letter, or does the pen in your hand write the letter? Obviously, you do; the pen is merely the instrument you use. God used men as instruments to write His "letter" to humanity. His letter is there to teach us who He is, so we can have a personal loving relationship with him. The men God used to write the bible ranged from kings to common fisherman, many of them not knowing the other. But there is a common theme, message and a golden thread of information running through all 66 books written across hundreds of years by different men (statistically an impossibility to coordinate such a task with such a common thread and message across all the books). God gave man his words through the direction, inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Man then expressed these words accurately, in his own voice, under the supervision of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit directed the collection of these inspired writings so that they became the Bible we have now."Those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God" (2 Pet 1:20-21) means that Scripture did not come from the creative work of the prophets' own invention or interpretation. God inspired the writers, so their message is authentic and reliable. God used the talents, education, and cultural background of each writer (they were not mindless robots); and God cooperated with the writers in such a way to ensure that the message he intended was faithfully communicated in the very words they wrote.Proof that the bible is supernatural can be seen with a quick study of its many prophecies which have come true over hundreds of years. The fulfilled prophecies, amazing consistency, and many scientific statements of the Bible prove it to be the Word of God. Isaiah 53 which prophecies the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, was prophesied hundreds of years before Jesus was born. Jesus The Suffering Servant “Who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, And like a root out of parched ground; He has no stately form or majesty That we should look upon Him, Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him. He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed. All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him. He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth. By oppression and judgment He was taken away; And as for His generation, who considered That He was cut off out of the land of the living For the transgression of my people, to whom the stroke was due? His grave was assigned with wicked men, Yet He was with a rich man in His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was there any deceit in His mouth. But the Lord was pleased To crush Him, putting Him to grief; If He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, And the good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand. As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied; By His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, As He will bear their iniquities. Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great, And He will divide the booty with the strong; Because He poured out Himself to death, And was numbered with the transgressors; Yet He Himself bore the sin of many, And interceded for the transgressors.” (Isaiah 53 NASB)The age of the book of Isaiah is proven by science and historians to be hundreds of years old before the birth of Jesus and it prophesied of His coming and suffering. Jesus was a real man who was crucified, proven by historians with many eyewitness accounts. We as Christians believe he is the Savior and the Son of God (and also God) (Jhn 1) sent to die for our sins, as the bible prophesied in amazing accuracy before he actually came. The bible will make more sense and come alive in your heart when you have repented of your sin and put your Trust in Jesus through Faith, then God will fill you with the Holy Spirit and you will be Born Again. ... "For you died to this life" means that we should have as little desire for improper worldly pleasures as a dead person would have. The Christian's real home is where Christ lives (Joh 14:2-3). This truth provides a different perspective on our lives here on earth. To "think about the things of heaven" means to look at life from God's perspective and to seek what he desires. This provides the antidote to materialism; we gain the proper perspective on material goods when we take God's view of them. It also provides the antidote to sensuality. By seeking what Christ desires, we have the power to break our obsession with pleasure and leisure activities. But it also provides the antidote to empty religiosity because following Christ means loving and serving in this world. Regard the world around you as God does; then you will live in harmony with him. “Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.” (Colossians 3:2-4, NAS95)HICJ NASB LASB ... Proverbs has a lot to say about women. How fitting that the book ends with a picture of a woman of strong character, great wisdom, many skills, and great compassion. This woman is an excellent wife and mother. She is also a manufacturer, importer, manager, realtor, farmer, seamstress, upholsterer, and merchant. Her strength and dignity do not come from her amazing achievements, however. They are a result of her reverence for God. In our society, where physical appearance counts for so much, it may surprise us to realize that her appearance is never mentioned. Her attractiveness comes entirely from her character.Pro 31:30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised. The Woman Who Fears the LordPro 31:10 An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels.Pro 31:11 The heart of her husband trusts in her, And he will have no lack of gain.Pro 31:12 She does him good and not evil All the days of her life.Pro 31:13 She looks for wool and flax And works with her hands in delight.Pro 31:14 She is like merchant ships; She brings her food from afar.Pro 31:15 She rises also while it is still night And gives food to her household And portions to her maidens.Pro 31:16 She considers a field and buys it; From her earnings she plants a vineyard.Pro 31:17 She girds herself with strength And makes her arms strong.Pro 31:18 She senses that her gain is good; Her lamp does not go out at night.Pro 31:19 She stretches out her hands to the distaff, And her hands grasp the spindle.Pro 31:20 She extends her hand to the poor, And she stretches out her hands to the needy.Pro 31:21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household, For all her household are clothed with scarlet.Pro 31:22 She makes coverings for herself; Her clothing is fine linen and purple.Pro 31:23 Her husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land.Pro 31:24 She makes linen garments and sells them, And supplies belts to the tradesmen.Pro 31:25 Strength and dignity are her clothing, And she smiles at the future.Pro 31:26 She opens her mouth in wisdom, And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.Pro 31:27 She looks well to the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness.Pro 31:28 Her children rise up and bless her; Her husband also, and he praises her, saying:Pro 31:29 "Many daughters have done nobly, But you excel them all."Pro 31:30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.HICJ NASB LASB ... To take up the cross meant to carry one's own cross to the place of crucifixion. Many Galileans had been killed that way by the Romans—and Jesus would face it as well. With this word picture, Christ presented a clear and challenging description of the Christian life. Being his disciple means putting aside selfish desires, shouldering one's "cross" every day, and following him. It is simple and yet so demanding. For the original Twelve, this meant literal suffering and death. For believers today, it means understanding that we belong to him and that we live to serve his purposes. Consider this: Do you think of your relationship with God primarily in terms of what's in it for you (which is considerable) or in terms of what you can do for him? Are you willing to deny yourself, take up your cross daily, and follow him? Anything less is not discipleship; it is merely superficial lip service. (See also the note on Luk 14:27.) Take Up Your Cross and Follow JesusLuk 9:23 And He was saying to them all, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.Luk 9:24 "For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it.Luk 9:25 "For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits himself?Luk 9:26 "For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in His glory, and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.Luke 9:24-25If this present life is most important to you, you will do everything you can to protect it. You will not want to do anything that might endanger your safety, health, or comfort. By contrast, if following Jesus is most important, you may find yourself in unsafe, unhealthy, and uncomfortable places. You may risk death, but you will not fear it because you know that Jesus will raise you to eternal life. Nothing material can compensate for the loss of eternal life. Jesus' disciples are not to use their lives on earth merely to please themselves; they should spend their lives serving God and others.Luke 9:26Luke's Greek audience would have had difficulty understanding a God who could die, just as Jesus' Jewish audience would have been perplexed by a Messiah who would let himself be captured and killed. Both would be ashamed of Jesus if they did not look past his death to his glorious resurrection and second coming. Then they would see Jesus, not as a loser, but as the Lord of the universe, who through his death brought salvation to those who believe.HICJ NASB LASB ... See MoreSee Less
