Are you a Good person?Let’s see if you are a good person: Jesus said, “Whoever looks upon another to lust (with sexual desire) after them has committed adultery already with them in their heart". Jesus sees lust as adultery (Matt 5:28). Have you ever lusted (Adultery)? Jesus sees hatred as murder (1 Jhn 3:15). Have you hated anyone (Murder)? Have you made a god in your mind to suit yourself, or worshiped the things of this world or followed a false god (1 Cor 6:9) (Idolatry)? Have you had sex outside of marriage (Col 3:35) (Fornication)? Have you used God’s name in vain (Col 3:8) (Blasphemy)? Have you ever stolen something irrespective of its value (Rom 13:9) (Thief)? Have you ever told a lie even a small one (Eph 4:25) (Liar)? If I'm really honest my answer to all these is yes, and yours should be too. If you have stolen, you are a thief, If you have told just one lie you are a liar, if you have lusted you’re an adulterer and cannot enter Heaven. You have to face a Righteous Holy God on Judgment Day. Will you be guilty and end up in Hell, forever? This should deeply concern you."For whosoever shall keep the whole Law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." (Jas 2:10 KJV)THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD, THERE IS NOT EVEN ONE." (Rom 3:10-12 NASB)If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. (1 Jhn 1:8 NASB)“If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts. (1 Jhn 1:10 NLT)“Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God”. (1 Cor 6:9-10 NASB)The Good NewsSo, we as sinners deserve to go to Hell. But that’s not God’s desire. We broke His Law (the Ten Commandments) but because Jesus paid our fine (died for our sins as a sacrifice, in our place) on the cross about 2000 years ago, God can forgive us. The bible says, “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Rom 5:8). Then He rose from the dead and defeated the power of death and the grave. If you REPENT (turn away from your sin, have sorrow for your sin(2 Cor 7:10-11), humble yourself (Matt 18:3-4 ), admit you are wrong, ask for forgiveness and turn to God) (Luk 13:3) and TRUST and put your FAITH in the Savior Jesus Christ, God will forgive your sins, then God will fill you with the Holy Spirit and you will be Born Again, God will give you a new heart with new desires and grant you everlasting life, for God is LOVING and MERCIFUL. We cannot save ourselves, only God can save us through Faith, but we must take the step of Faith, accept the Free gift, humble ourselves, Repent and Believe in Him. God desires all to be saved: This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:3-4 NASB)Saved through Faith: For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9 NASB)“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”” (Rom 10:9-10, 13 NLT)“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (Jhn 3:16 NASB)Jesus said “I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent.” (Luk 5:32‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)“Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.” (Acts 3:19‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)“Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This promise is to you, to your children, and to those far away —all who have been called by the Lord our God.”” (Acts‬ ‭2:38-39‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)‬‬“Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.” (Matt 3:2‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)“Not at all! And you will perish, too, unless you repent of your sins and turn to God.” (Luk 13:3‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)“So, repent of your sins and turn to God today, put your faith in Jesus Christ, then read the Bible and obey what you read (Jhn 14:21). Be sensible, get right with God today.hicj.org/the-good-news ... See MoreSee Less

Suffering helps us be like Christ, yet people will do anything to avoid pain. Followers of Christ, however, should be willing and prepared to do God's will and to suffer for it if necessary. We can overcome sin when we focus on Christ and what he wants us to do. Pain and danger reveal our true values. Anyone who suffers for doing good and still faithfully obeys in spite of suffering has made a clean break with sin.Stewards of God's Grace1Pe 4:1 Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,1Pe 4:2 so as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.1Pe 4:3 For the time already past is sufficient for you to have carried out the desire of the Gentiles, having pursued a course of sensuality, lusts, drunkenness, carousing, drinking parties and abominable idolatries.1Pe 4:4 In all this, they are surprised that you do not run with them into the same excesses of dissipation, and they malign you;1Pe 4:5 but they will give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.1Pe 4:6 For the gospel has for this purpose been preached even to those who are dead, that though they are judged in the flesh as men, they may live in the spirit according to the will of God.1Pe 4:7 The end of all things is near; therefore, be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer.1Pe 4:8 Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.1Pe 4:9 Be hospitable to one another without complaint.1Pe 4:10 As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.1Pe 4:11 Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.1 Peter 4:3-4People whose lives change radically at conversion may experience contempt from old friends. They may be scorned not only because they refuse to participate in certain activities but also because their priorities have changed and they are now heading in the opposite direction. Their lives incriminate their friends' sinful activities. Mature Christians should help new believers resist such pressures of opposition by helping them to be faithful to Christ, surrounding them as new friends, and encouraging them to develop new habits and activities that are not only enjoyable but positive for their spiritual growth.1 Peter 4:5-6Many people in the early church had concerns about life after death. In Thessalonica, Christians worried that loved ones who died before Christ's return might never see Christ (1Th 4:13-18). Peter's readers needed to be reminded that the dead (both the faithful and their oppressors) would be judged. The judgment will be perfectly fair, he pointed out, because even the dead have heard the Good News (see also 1Pe 3:18-19). The Good News was first announced when Jesus Christ preached on the earth, but it has been operating since before the creation of the world (Eph 1:4), and it affects all people, the dead as well as the living.1 Peter 4:5The basis of salvation is our belief in Jesus (Act 16:31), but the basis for judgment is how we have lived. All people will be judged: believers for the rewards they will receive; unbelievers for punishment. Those who inflict persecution are marked for punishment when they stand before God. All will give an account to God, so we must be ready. This may give you a new perspective on your activities and actions today. Are you prepared to explain them to God?1 Peter 4:7-9We should live expectantly because Christ is coming soon. Getting ready to meet Christ involves continually growing in love for God and for others (see Jesus' summary of the law in Mat 22:37-40). It is important to pray regularly and to reach out to needy people. Your possessions, status, and power will mean nothing in God's Kingdom, but you will spend eternity with other people. Invest your time and talents where they will make an eternal difference.1 Peter 4:10-11Our abilities should be faithfully used in serving others; none are for our own exclusive enjoyment. Some people, well aware of their abilities, believe that they have the right to use their abilities as they please. Others feel that they have no special talents at all. Peter addresses both groups in these verses. Everyone has some gifts; find yours and use them. Peter mentions speaking and serving. Paul lists these and other abilities in Rom 12:6-8, 1Co 12:8-11, and Eph 4:11. Even as you seek to discover your gifts, if you see a need in the church, seek to meet it. You may find gifts in areas you might not have guessed!1 Peter 4:11How is God glorified when we use our abilities? When we use them as he directs, to help others, they will see Jesus in us and glorify him for the help they have received. Peter may have been thinking of Jesus' words, "Let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father" (Mat 5:16).HICJ LASB ... See MoreSee Less

Our forever home and our hope is with the Lord. This life is short, make it count by serving the Lord and reaching the Lost, the days are few. Death casts a frightening shadow over us because we are entirely helpless in its presence. We can struggle with other enemies—pain, suffering, disease, injury—but strength and courage cannot overcome death. It has the final word. Only one person can walk with us through death's dark valley and bring us safely to the other side—the God of life, our shepherd. Because life is uncertain, we should follow this shepherd who offers us eternal comfort. The Lord Is My ShepherdPsa 23:1 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.Psa 23:2 He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters.Psa 23:3 He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake.Psa 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.Psa 23:5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows.Psa 23:6 Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. When we allow God, our shepherd, to guide us, we have contentment. When we choose to sin and go our own way, however, we cannot blame God for the environment we create for ourselves. Our shepherd knows the "green meadows" and "peaceful streams" that will restore us. We will reach these places only by following him obediently. Rebelling against the shepherd's leading is actually rebelling against our own best interests. We must remember this the next time we are tempted to go our own way rather than the shepherd's way. HICJ LASB ... See MoreSee Less

Prosperity preachers tend to act like faith is some sort of super power that you can stir up to impact the world around you the way that a Jedi uses the Force or Neo manipulates the Matrix. But biblically, faith represents fundamentally powerless people who are not in control of anything, who merely rely on God. ... See MoreSee Less

but just as it is written, "THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM."1 Corinthians 2:9 NAS95We cannot imagine all that God has in store for us, both in this life and for eternity. He will create a new heaven and a new earth (Isa_65:17; Rev_21:1), and we will live with him forever. Until then, his Holy Spirit comforts and guides us. Knowing the wonderful and eternal future that awaits us gives us hope and courage to press on in this life, to endure hardship, and to avoid giving in to temptation. This world is not all there is. The best is yet to come.HICJ LASB ... See MoreSee Less

Jesus the Great High Priest Jesus sympathizes with us even in our innocent infirmities, wants, weaknesses, miseries, dangers. Yet he is without sin - And, therefore, is indisputably able to preserve us from it in all our temptations. Let us therefore come boldly - Without any doubt or fear. Unto the throne of God, our reconciled Father, even his throne of grace - Grace erected it, and reigns there, and dispenses all blessings in a way of mere, unmerited favour. “Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:14-16, NAS95)HICJ LASB ... See MoreSee Less

All humans regardless of race, language or culture are all equal in God’s eyes and are created by God in God’s image, anyone who says different insults God and His very own precious creation. “Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.” So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:26-27)In the end many will be saved from all nations and tongues:“After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands. And they were shouting with a great roar, “Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the Lamb!”” (Revelation 7:9-10) ... See MoreSee Less
