The Resurrection “"He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying. "Go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you into Galilee, there you will see Him; behold, I have told you." And they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy and ran to report it to His disciples. And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him. Then Jesus *said to them, "Do not be afraid; go and take word to My brethren to leave for Galilee, and there they will see Me."” (Matthew 28:6-10, NAS95)Matthew 28:5-7The angel who announced the good news of the Resurrection to the women gave them four messages: (1) Don't be afraid. The reality of the Resurrection brings joy, not fear. When you are afraid, remember the empty tomb. (2) He isn't here. Jesus is not dead and is not to be looked for among the dead. He is alive, with his people. (3) Come, see. The women could check the evidence themselves. The tomb was empty then, and it is empty today. The Resurrection is a historical fact. (4) Go quickly and tell. They were to spread the joy of the Resurrection. We, too, are to spread the great news about Jesus' resurrection.Matthew 28:6Jesus' resurrection is the key to the Christian faith. Why? (1) Just as he promised, Jesus rose from the dead. We can be confident, therefore, that he will accomplish all he has promised. (2) Jesus' bodily resurrection shows us that the living Christ is ruler of God's eternal Kingdom, not a false prophet or impostor. (3) We can be certain of our resurrection because he was resurrected. Death is not the end—there is future life. (4) The power that brought Jesus back to life is available to us to bring our spiritually dead selves back to life. (5) The Resurrection is the basis for the church's witness to the world. Jesus is more than just a human leader; he is the Son of God. Jesus is God. LASB ... See MoreSee Less

Jesus the Great High PriestHeb 4:14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.Heb 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.Heb 4:16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. NASBHebrews 4:14Christ is superior to the priests, and his priesthood is superior to their priesthood. To the Jews, the high priest was the highest religious authority in the land. He alone entered the Most Holy Place in the Temple once a year to make atonement for the sins of the whole nation (Leviticus 16). Like the high priest, Jesus mediates between God and us. As humanity's representative, he intercedes for us before God. As God's representative, he assures us of God's forgiveness. Jesus has more authority than the Jewish high priests because he is truly God and truly man. Unlike the high priest, who could go before God only once a year, Christ is always at God's right hand, interceding for us. He is always available to hear us when we pray.Hebrews 4:15Jesus is like us because he experienced a full range of temptations throughout his life as a human being. We can be comforted knowing that Jesus faced temptation—he can sympathize with us. We can be encouraged knowing that Jesus faced temptation without giving in to sin. He shows us that we do not have to sin when facing the seductive lure of temptation. Jesus is the only perfect human being who has ever lived.Hebrews 4:16Prayer is our approach to God, and we are to come "boldly." Some Christians approach God meekly with heads hung low, afraid to ask him to meet their needs. Others pray flippantly, giving little thought to what they say. Come with reverence because he is your King. But also come with bold assurance because he is your Friend and Counselor.LASB ... See MoreSee Less

“"Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions. ["But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your transgressions."]” (Mark 11:25-26, NAS95)Forgiving others is tough work—so much so that many people would rather do something totally distasteful than offer forgiveness to someone who has wronged them. For a person to pray while bearing a grudge, however, is like a tree sprouting leaves and bearing no fruit (Mrk 11:13). True faith changes the heart. Real prayer dismantles pride and vengeance, filling the holes with love. Real faith seeks peace. For our churches to have prayer power, there must be harmony and forgiveness evident in the body of believers. Let go of hurts, abandon grudges, and forgive others. LASB ... See MoreSee Less

The Message of Salvation to All “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, "WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED." For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED."” (Romans 10:9-13, NAS95) ... God's Everlasting LoveRom 8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?Rom 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?Rom 8:33 Who will bring a charge against God's elect? God is the one who justifies;Rom 8:34 who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.Rom 8:35 Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?Rom 8:36 Just as it is written, "FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG; WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED."Rom 8:37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.Rom 8:38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,Rom 8:39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.Romans 8:31-34Do you ever think that because you aren't good enough for God, he will not save you? Do you ever feel as if salvation is for everyone else but you? Then these verses are especially for you. If God gave his Son for you, he isn't going to hold back the gift of salvation! If Christ gave his life for you, he isn't going to turn around and condemn you! He will not withhold anything you need to live for him. The book of Romans is more than a theological explanation of God's redeeming grace—it is a letter of comfort and confidence addressed to you.Romans 8:34Paul says that Jesus is pleading for us in heaven. God has acquitted us and has removed our sin and guilt, so it is Satan, not God, who accuses us. When he does, Jesus, our advocate, sits at God's right hand to present our case. For more on the concept of Christ as our advocate, see the notes on Heb 4:14; Heb 4:15.Romans 8:35-36These words were written to a church that would soon undergo terrible persecution. In just a few years, Paul's hypothetical situations would turn into painful realities. This passage reaffirms God's profound love for his people. No matter what happens to us, no matter where we are, we can never be separated from his love. Suffering should not drive us away from God but help us to identify with him and allow his love to heal us.Romans 8:35-39These verses contain one of the most comforting promises in all Scripture. Believers have always had to face hardships in many forms: persecution, illness, imprisonment, and even death. These sometimes cause them to fear that they have been abandoned by Christ. But Paul exclaims that it is impossible to be separated from Christ. His death for us is proof of his unconquerable love. Nothing can separate us from Christ's presence. God tells us how great his love is so that we will feel totally secure in him. If we believe these overwhelming assurances, we will not be afraid.Romans 8:38Powers are unseen forces of evil in the universe, forces like Satan and his fallen angels (see Eph 6:12). In Christ we are super-conquerors, and his love will protect us from any such forces.HICJ NASB LASB ... See MoreSee Less

“See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.” (1 John 3:1, NAS95)As believers, our self-worth is based on the fact that God loves us and calls us his children. We are his children now, not just sometime in the distant future. Knowing that we are his children should encourage us to live as Jesus did. LASB ... See MoreSee Less

Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas. May you have a blessed day filled with love, peace and joy. We have been shown great mercy and love by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and may we always remember His sacrifice and the true meaning of celebrating Christmas as the birth of our Lord and Savior.“‘May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.’”‭‭Numbers‬ ‭6:24-26‬ ‭NLT‬‬Approximately 700 years before it happened, it was prophesied by Isaiah:“All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).”‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭7:14‬ ‭NLT‬‬“For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬“This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit. And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” All of this occurred to fulfill the Lord’s message through his prophet: “Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’””‭‭Matthew‬ ‭1:18, 21-23‬ ‭NLT ... See MoreSee Less

Are you a Good person?Let’s see if you are a good person: Jesus said, “Whoever looks upon another to lust (with sexual desire) after them has committed adultery already with them in their heart". Jesus sees lust as adultery (Matt 5:28). Have you ever lusted (Adultery)? Jesus sees hatred as murder (1 Jhn 3:15). Have you hated anyone (Murder)? Have you made a god in your mind to suit yourself, or worshiped the things of this world or followed a false god (1 Cor 6:9) (Idolatry)? Have you had sex outside of marriage (Col 3:35) (Fornication)? Have you used God’s name in vain (Col 3:8) (Blasphemy)? Have you ever stolen something irrespective of its value (Rom 13:9) (Thief)? Have you ever told a lie even a small one (Eph 4:25) (Liar)? If I'm really honest my answer to all these is yes, and yours should be too. If you have stolen, you are a thief, If you have told just one lie you are a liar, if you have lusted you’re an adulterer and cannot enter Heaven. You have to face a Righteous Holy God on Judgment Day. Will you be guilty and end up in Hell, forever? This should deeply concern you."For whosoever shall keep the whole Law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." (Jas 2:10 KJV)THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD, THERE IS NOT EVEN ONE." (Rom 3:10-12 NASB)If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. (1 Jhn 1:8 NASB)“If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts. (1 Jhn 1:10 NLT)“Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God”. (1 Cor 6:9-10 NASB)The Good NewsSo, we as sinners deserve to go to Hell. But that’s not God’s desire. We broke His Law (the Ten Commandments) but because Jesus paid our fine (died for our sins as a sacrifice, in our place) on the cross about 2000 years ago, God can forgive us. The bible says, “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Rom 5:8). Then He rose from the dead and defeated the power of death and the grave. If you REPENT (turn away from your sin, have sorrow for your sin(2 Cor 7:10-11), humble yourself (Matt 18:3-4 ), admit you are wrong, ask for forgiveness and turn to God) (Luk 13:3) and TRUST and put your FAITH in the Savior Jesus Christ, God will forgive your sins, then God will fill you with the Holy Spirit and you will be Born Again, God will give you a new heart with new desires and grant you everlasting life, for God is LOVING and MERCIFUL. We cannot save ourselves, only God can save us through Faith, but we must take the step of Faith, accept the Free gift, humble ourselves, Repent and Believe in Him. God desires all to be saved: This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:3-4 NASB)Saved through Faith: For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9 NASB)“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”” (Rom 10:9-10, 13 NLT)“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (Jhn 3:16 NASB)Jesus said “I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent.” (Luk 5:32‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)“Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.” (Acts 3:19‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)“Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This promise is to you, to your children, and to those far away —all who have been called by the Lord our God.”” (Acts‬ ‭2:38-39‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)‬‬“Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.” (Matt 3:2‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)“Not at all! And you will perish, too, unless you repent of your sins and turn to God.” (Luk 13:3‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬)“So, repent of your sins and turn to God today, put your faith in Jesus Christ, then read the Bible and obey what you read (Jhn 14:21). Be sensible, get right with God today.hicj.org/the-good-news ... See MoreSee Less
